A grassroots non-profit organization formed in response to the skyrocketing real-estate prices that have created a shortage of truly affordable housing here in Island County. Using the traditional Community Land Trust (CLT) model, Saratoga Community Housing acquires land and homes to provide affordable home ownership opportunities for lower to moderate income residents. HFHIC partners with Saratoga Community Housing to acquire land that ensures that the housing will be available to low income families for years to come.
Founded in Americus, Georgia, USA, in 1976, Habitat for Humanity today operates around the globe and has helped build, renovate, and repair more than 600,000 decent, affordable houses sheltering more than 3 million people worldwide.
A world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.
Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations (HFH) will not proselytize. Nor will HFH work with entities or individuals who insist on proselytizing as part of their work with HFH. This means that HFH will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must (i) adhere to or convert to a particular faith or (ii) listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.
HFHIC is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization focused on building houses, communities, and hope. HFHIC is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and preserving homes by advocating for fair and just housing policies and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.
People in your community, and all over the world, partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.
