Our Vision and Mission Statement

Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in approximately 70 countries.

In 1998, Vic and Marlene Jones saw a need for affordable homes here on Whidbey Island. Along with the help of others within the community, they were able to establish Habitat for Humanity of Island County. Over the past 20 years, this affiliate has been able to construct 50 new homes, help over 60 families and provide two Habitat stores.

Our History

WHO WE ARE

Founded in 1998 by community members who recognized the need for affordable housing, Habitat for Humanity of Island County has grown from a small community affiliate, to a county wide organization serving more than 60 families through homeownership or critical home repair.  With the support of community partnerships with respected businesses, local churches, civic organizations, and  military service members, Habitat for Humanity has been able to provide decent, affordable homeownership to 50 homeowners.  Through financial support or volunteering at our furniture stores or build sites, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves.

Through shelter, we empower.

OUR VISION
A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.
