Women Build: May 17th & 18th, 2024

Women Build is an annual event that recruits and empowers women of all different ages, backgrounds, and industries to come together to build homes and make a powerful and visible impact on our local community. The program invites women to devote at least one day to help families build strength, stability and independence through housing. The event is meant to spotlight the homeownership challenges faced by women. Women Build does not exclude men, but rather includes women in the construction process, offering an empowering, unique, fun and positive environment for women to give back to their community!

Must be 18 years or older to participate!

New Construction

That’s right! This year, with our new build located in Holmes Harbor, we’re thrilled to extend our welcome to the entire Island County area. As we embark on this project, we need all hands on deck. Your efforts in constructing this home are invaluable, and you’re truly making a significant difference for the future homeowners!

Morning Meet & Greet

You’ll start your day at the Oak Harbor Habitat Store where you’ll meet the Habitat leadership, construction team, and the families who are Habitat for Humanity of Island County Homeowners.

You’ll learn more about Habitat and how the homes we build are part of the solution to the affordable housing crisis. Then you’ll receive some safety training before heading off to your assigned job site in Holmes Harbor.

(Transportation will be provided if needed)

Volunteer Experience

Secure your tickets to the event and join us in a fulfilling day of building. You’ll get to take home a commemorative t-shirt, enjoy a delectable lunch, and receive a specialty Habitat for Humanity of Island County hardhat. Alternatively, bring along your hardhat from last year and enhance it with a “2024” sticker provided by PNW Vibes Market, enriching your collection with each passing year. After a day of hard work, join us for a relaxing barbecue, where you can mingle with our dedicated staff, esteemed sponsors, leadership members, and the inspiring Habitat homebuyers.
